I was able to speak to Sabrina at Chik-fil-A and work us in for a "Spirit" Night at their location - as a SCHEF fundraiser.
We will have Thursday, November 1st from 5-9. They have sent me a flier that we can print out and hand out to drum up interest within out families, friends and churches. I've got it attached. I may try to print some out to have at our PE and events I attend over the next month - but I thought it would be great if we could promote it in the newsletter now - to get families talking and planning it within their circles.
It's important to note that we will NOT be allowed to "hang out" in the parking lot and establishment and tell people to mention SCHEF as they go in. Our goal is to promote the event as much as possible BEFORE that night - so the extra business benefits Chik-Fil-A and SCHEF alike.
I've also got our BoxTops registration underway - so we can encourage parents to begin saving and collecting these precious labels (Faith Cruz is still willing to be the collector/submitter - but I have to get our registration complete first) It may be best to have parents turn them in to a Board member ( I can collect them from everyone at the meetings and get them to Faith ).
Also, I have SCHEF registered for Community Cash for Schools program. We can collect UPC's (bar codes) from ANY Community products (I've attached a list as well). They aren't just the red bags - they have creamers, sugars and many offices and business use their products then just toss the package - we can use those labels as well! This program can earn us (typically) .10-.15 per UPC!
One last one is the Campbells Labels for Education campaign. This one will not generate cash - but we can earn "points" for each label and redeem them for educational and PE equiptment - free stuff - just for collecting and turning in the labels. Free meaning, we won't have to purchase these items from our "budget" - yipee!
They didn't have a form that I could attach with all the eligible products...there are so many, so I tried to create a type of checklist and attached it. But to name a few:
Campbells soups, BIC products (pens, markers...), Pepperidge Farm, Post Cereal, Prego, Franco-American, V8 Splash/Fusion, Dannon Kids Yogurt, Pop Secret, GLAD Food storage... just to name a few. And different products bring in 1, 5, 10 points per label.
As for me and my house; we will serve the LORD!
